There are literally hundreds of Scuba Training Agencies around the world, so which one is the best? Well, the simple answer is they all are! Each of the different agencies has its strengths, at Southsea Scuba we have chosen to offer courses from two of the biggest agencies:
Scuba Schools International Professional

Professional Association of Diving Instructors
www.padi.com
Both of these agencies have been around for over 50 years and are ISO certified and members of WRSTC (World Recreational Scuba Training Council) so courses from both agencies cover the same core training and certifications are recognised worldwide.
So what is the difference between these two agencies? For us as Instructors the main difference is how we conduct the courses, every agency has its own philosophies, principles and standards that we must adhere to, but for you as a student diver the main difference is the path of progression, this is best explained in person as it all depends on what you want to achieve.

Now that has probably not made things much clearer, so how do you decide which course is right for you? Only you can decide this, we can help guide you, but ultimately the decision is yours. The best way forward is to pop into our Dive Centre and have a chat, we can discuss why you want to dive, how far you want to progress etc and help you decide, the choice is always yours.
We often are asked If “I started training with one agency do I have to stick with it?” Simple answer – no you don’t, you can continue your training with whichever agency you want, you can even swap back and forth if you like, some of our staff have certifications from more than one agency.
